     Felting Workshop

    FELTING WORKSHOP
    9:30 AM - 3:30 PM

    Join Kathryn from The Australian Wool Store as she teaches you to create a piece of fabric from hand-dyed merino top using both wet felting and
    needle felting techniques.  At the end of the class you'll have enough fabric to create a small coin pouch which can be further embellished with
    simple embroidery stitches using hand dyed embroidery thread.

    This is an all-day workshop with morning and afternoon tea provided.  BYO Lunch.

    Cost includes all materials, tools, step-by-step notes and pattern.

    MORNING WORKSHOPS

    Megs Fine Lace Scarf 

    MEG'S FINE LACE SCARF
    9:30 AM - 12:30 PM 

    Join Anita and Bess from The Wool Inn as they teach you to knit this interesting stitch highlighting the delecate beauty of fine mohair and silk blends.

    Tutorial includes knitting lace stitches from charted patern with tips on working with delicate yarns.

    Cost includes all materials, pattern and tuition.  Participants need to bring 6.5mm needles or 23 cm Clover 6.50mm needles, if required,
    can be purchased on the day for $9.95ea.  If you bring your own 6.50mm needles, they need to have a tapered tip..

    Macrame Earrings

    Join Rebecca Muscat as she teaches you a series of Macrame Knots which will become a beautiful pair of earrings.  If earrings aren't
    your thing, Rebecca will show you how to make a necklace instead!

    Crochet Planter 

    SUPER EASY CROCHET PLANTER

    Join Robyn from Yummy Yarn & Co to make a super easy crochet planter with a wooden base.

    Cost includes all materials (1 x 25g ball of DMC recycled cotton, 1 x 14cm wooden basket base, 1 x 7mm crochet hook).

    Drop Spindles

    Join Helen Keenan of Lyrebird Yarns as she teaches you to use a drop spindle to spin a single strand yarn, and then moving on to ply the singles
    together to create a 2ply yarn.

    This workshop is for people who have never spun before.

    Cost includes Asford Drop Spindle, notes and 50g of fibre.

    Two handed knitting class 

    TWO HANDED KNITTING

    Join Susan Stephens as she teaches you two handed knitting to help your colourwork.  You will learn to knit by 'throwing' the yarn with your right
    hand and 'picking' the yarn with your left hand.

    Participants need to bring two contrasting colours of the same yarn and appropriate circular needles.

    Join Elizabeth Castle from Castle Handmade as she teaches the interesting technique of Broomstick Lace Crochet to create an infinity scarf.

    In this class you will learn how to master two Broomstick lace crochet stitches - Straight Stitch and Traditional Loop Stitch.

    Cost includes pattern and kit (comprising 2 x50g balls of Morris & Sons Quartet 8ply).
    BYO 5mm crochet hook or purchase on the day.

    120cm long.

    This workshop is suitable for a beginner.

    Crocheted Pineapple Bag 

    CROCHETED PINEAPPLE BAG

    Join Anita and Bess from The Wool Inn as they teach you how to create this eco-friendly cotton mesh bag using pineapple stitch.
    Bag features include a study base and stitch detail on the shoulder straps.

    Cost includes pattern, yarn (3x 70g balls of Fiddlesticks Finch in a variety of colours), four wooden rings, tuition and afternoon tea.
    BYO 4mm crochet hook.

    The Knit Night at the Rowers will proceed if you're in the area.

    Our favourite festival of yarn returns post covid in a new venue, the historic Winbourne.  Located in the Edmund Rice Conference Centre and Retreat in Mulgoa at the foot of the beautiful Blue Mountains in covid safe surrounds, all the features loved and missed over the covid years will be back in March 2022. 

    Workshops will be held on Saturday 19 March, a communal knit night on Saturday evening and yarny goodness galore will be available for purchase from a fabulous selection of stallholders on Sunday 20 March.

    Join us for a Fibrefest Knit Night on Saturday 19 March at the Nepean Rowing Club, 32 Bruce Neale Drive, Penrith. from 6.00pm.  We've reserved some tables for the evening but if you're inclined to sitting in your own group, you can make a booking on (02) 4731 1377.  Looking forward to sharing a stitch or two with you.
